Foo News Round-Up: New Track, Former Drummer Slams Grohl in Interview
Foo Fighters have rolled out yet another new song from the upcoming Concrete And Gold album in Europe.
The group played “Arrows” during its recent concert in Athens, Greece — the final show of its European tour — adding to a new song list that includes “Run,” “La Dee Da,” “Sunday Rain,” “Dirty Water” and “The Sky Is A Neighborhood” during the run.
The group has dates in Asia and Europe during August, with a North American tour kicking off October 7 at Cal Jam in San Bernardino, Calif.
…Meanwhile, former Foo Fighters drummer William Goldsmith has lashed out at Grohl via a new interview with The Daily Mail in England.
Goodsmith was with the Foos from 1995-97 and left after learning Grohl had re-recorded all his drum parts on the group’s second album, The Colour And The Shape.
Goldsmith says he still holds a grudge, feeling creatively “raped” and particularly angry when Grohl asked him to stay with the band and tour to support the album:
“The way things were handled, and what was done to me, I do think staying in that band would have made me feel like my soul was destroyed and I would have likely ended up dead.”
Goldsmith says he hasn’t seen Grohl since a 2002 festival where both were playing, and he says the Foos frontman “was a bit like the kid who is popular but is mean and everybody likes them.”
