Beck celebrates his 47th birthday today (July 8), and as diverse as his catalog is, his collaborations have covered nearly every genre you could think of?
Don’t believe us? Check out these five unique Beck collaborations.
Lonely Island – “Attracted to Us”
We’re not quite sure how Beck got involved with this infamous trio, but we’re sure glad he did, with the result being “Attracted to Us” off the 2011 studio album Turtleneck & Chain.
Emmylou Harris – “Sin City”
Harris released a tribute album to Gram Parsons in 1999 called Return of the Grievous Angel. On it is a cover of “Sin City” featuring vocals from Beck.
Pink – “Feel Good Time”
Written by Beck and William Orbit, “Feel Good Time” ended up being recorded by Pink and featured on the soundtrack for the 2003 film Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.
Danger Mouse – ‘Modern Guilt’
The DJ icon was a co-producer on Beck’s 2008 album, which also featured guest vocals from Chan Marshall on the track “Orphans.”
Soundtrack, Soundtracks, Soundtracks!
Beck’s music has been featured in a bunch of films and TV shows, but he’s also written some original tracks meant for films, too. Our personal favorite? The eight songs he wrote for 2010’s Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
