Famous Miami Cuban Bakery Expands to Southwest Florida
If treats like guava pastries, empanadas, croquetas and bocaditos make you hungry just thinking about them, a famous Miami Cuban bakery is expanding to Southwest Florida. If you've ever been to Miami, chances are you've seen Vicky Bakery. They've been around since 1972 and have built a loyal following over the years. The story of how they started is sweet with Antonio and Gelasia Cao falling in love over 50 years ago while working in Cuba at a bakery called La Vencedora. They came to the United States and saved up enough money to open what started as a single location in Hialeah that has now grown to over 20 locations throughout South Florida. Whether it's locals grabbing breakfast or tourists seeking a taste of Miami's Cuban heritage, Vicky Bakery has earned quite a reputation as a must-visit destination for anyone craving a true Miami experience. Some of the things they're best known for include their guava pastelito, Cuban sandwich and Antonio's ham croquettas. From here, Miami is a bit of a drive, but there's good news because this famous Miami Cuban bakery is expanding to Southwest Florida. https://www.instagram.com/p/DDH9mFJP1Ck/ Famous Miami Cuban Bakery Expands to Southwest Florida If you've been looking for a taste of Vicky's Bakery in Southwest Florida, you're in luck. There is already a location in Ave Maria on Annunciation Circle open for business and one that just opened last week in Fort Myers in the El Dorado Plaza at the corner of Cleveland Avenue and Colonial Boulevard. And soon, a third location will be opening in Cape Coral on Del Prado just south of Pine Island Road with an expected opening date in late 2025. If you want to visit the Fort Myers location (like I plan to as soon as possible), they're open from 6am-7pm Monday-Saturday and 6am-4pm on Sunday. You can check out the menu and order online here
