Jon Bon Jovi's son, Jake Bongiovi, is making his acting debut in a unique comedy that might hit very close to home for his father.

Jake stars in Rockbottom, which is about a fictional '80s hair metal band called Cougarsnake. The film takes place in the present day. Despite the band being broken up, they're inspired to reunite when a major Gen-Z musician named Bryce Cooper (Brandon Butler) name-checks them as an influence. As a result, Cougarsnake gets booked to open for Cooper, but, according to the film's synopsis, " ... when the lead singer is hospitalized a reluctant replacement must overcome stage fright to save the show."

That's right! Jake is Justin, the reluctant replacement. Take a look at him in the trailer below. It's unknown whether Jake is actually singing, but he sure seems to have his father's stage presence.

Rockbottom is available on Prime Video.

Jake Bongiovi and His Engagement to Millie Bobby Brown

Rockbottom shows Jake dabbling in the "family business," figuratively speaking, but it also has him dabbling in the same business as his fiancée, Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown.

Jake, 22, and Millie, 20, announced their engagement in April 2023. Brown took to Instagram and shared a black-and-white photo of her being hugged by Bongiovi. In the photo, she's wearing a sizable diamond ring on her left ring finger. She captioned the photo with a lyric from the Taylor Swift song "Lover": "I've loved you three summers now, honey, I want 'em all." Meanwhile, Bongiovi shared a photo to Instagram with Brown and captioned it simply, "Forever."

The young couple were first rumored to be dating in Spring 2021.

Jon Bon Jovi and his wife, Dorothea Hurley, eloped in Las Vegas in 1989. However, the two were famously high school sweethearts. Even though they married when they were older, JBJ can definitely relate to Jake and Millie's "young love."

Bon Jovi said of his son's engagement to Good Morning America, "It is an accelerated version of what I went through 40 years ago ... I've gotten to know [Millie] in the last year, she works really hard, and she and Jake will grow together in their own way."

Three of Jon and Dorothea's four children are in very serious relationship. People notes that oldest child/daughter, Stephanie, 30, is also engaged. The outlet also confirmed that second-born/son, Jesse, 29, and his longtime girlfriend, Jesse Light, actually eloped in Vegas on May 7 at the same chapel where Jon and Dorothea eloped.

Bon Jovi has been active for over four decades, and they aren't showing signs of slowing down.

Their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame career has netted them over 130 million albums sold worldwide and legions of fans spanning generations.

Narrowing down their catalog to a select number of songs and ranking them is a daunting task, but here are Bon Jovi's 35 best songs, ranked.

The Latest on Bon Jovi

A new docuseries about Bon Jovi is set to premiere on Hulu on April 26. The docuseries is titled Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story.

The docuseries also has the cooperation of all Bon Jovi members, both past and present. A teaser trailer of the docuseries offers a supercut of the band's wild career, including the exit of guitarist Richie Sambora.

Additionally, the teaser trailer shows Jon Bon Jovi in a hospital bed. He's holding a dry-erase board that simply says, "I'm good." Meanwhile, an unidentified voiceover says, "Jon's going through his challenges." It then cuts to JBJ saying, "It almost killed us."

The "challenges" appear to be about Bon Jovi's recent vocal issues, which he discussed during the Pollstar Live! conference in February 2024.

Per Ultimate Classic Rock, Bon Jovi said, "It's become public knowledge now, but I've had major reconstructive surgery in my vocal cords, and I never had anything like this, ever. So it's been a difficult road, but I found a doctor in Philadelphia who did something called a medialization, because one of my cords was literally atrophied."

A description of Thank You, Goodnight from Hulu also promises it will delve into the band's "most public moments of friction." Of course, this is likely a reference to the 2013 exit of Sambora, who has often talked about the potential of rejoining the band.
