Robbie Bachman, co-founding member/drummer for Bachman-Turner Overdrive, has died. He was 69.

Bachman's death was confirmed by his brother, Randy, in a post to Facebook. Randy wrote, "Another sad departure. The pounding beat behind BTO has left us. I just got a call from Fred Turner and my youngest brother Robbie has joined Mum, Dad & brother Gary on the other side. Fred said maybe Jeff Beck needs a drummer to play with.  He was an integral cog in our rock 'n' roll machine and we rocked the world together."

Robbie Bachman's tenure with BTO ran from 1973-1979 and 1988-2005. He played drums on the band's biggest hits including "Takin' Care of Business," "Roll On Down the Highway" and "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet," which was a number one hit in six countries including the United States and the band's native Canada.
