Gibson Releases Two New Jimi Hendrix Signature Guitars

Gibson is honoring Jimi Hendrix with two new signature guitars.

Embedded below is a preview of the Hendrix 1967 SG Custom in Aged Polaris White and the 1969 Flying V in Aged Ebony, with the latter being available in right and left-handed versions.

Both signature guitars were used during landmark moments of Hendrix's career. The 1969 Flying V was used by Hendrix during his 1970 performance at the Isle of Wight Festival, while the 1967 SG was played by Hendrix during his September 9, 1969 appearance on The Dick Cavett Show.

In a statement on these new Gibson signature guitars, Janie Hendrix, Jimi's sister and CEO and President of Experience Hendrix, said, "I don't know of a more perfect time than the present for the world to be inspired and electrified by the spirit of Jimi, embodied in these guitars! Jimi didn't play with just his hands, he played with his heart and really his soul, using his guitar to create positive energy. He wanted to awaken the world with it."
