Keith Richards made his feelings very clear about the recent Black Lives Matter protests in the United States.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Richards said, "It’s about bloody time. I mean, in this country [the U.S.], things are coming to a head. That’s the way it is. You got to deal with it."
He added, "It’s difficult for me to talk about it, because I am not an American. I live here, I am in heart and soul, I am one of you, but I can’t interfere. I’m like Putin, I refuse to interfere in your electoral process."
When asked about being a champion for black musicians and artists, Richards said, "They're the reason I'm here."
Keef is currently promoting Live At the Hollywood Palladium 1988, a new box set from his solo band Keith Richards & The X-Pensive Winos. The box set comes out on November 13 and is currently available for pre-order at KeithRichards.com.
