Since Vinnie Paul Abbott’s death this past Friday (June 22), a number of musicians have paid tribute to the late drummer on stage during shows.
Here’s a round-up of tributes that have happened so far.
Sebastian Bach
Bach posted a tearful video tribute to Vinnie Paul the night of his death, and during a gig on June 24 in Winnipeg, he performed Pantera’s “Cemetery Gates” in honor of his friend.
Alice In Chains
The band was performing at Hellfest in Clisson, France on June 24 when they dedicated “Nutshell” to Vinnie Paul, a song they normally play in honor of Layne Staley and Mike Starr.
Megadeth
Megadeth also paid tribute to Vinnie Paul during their set at Hellfest with a performance of “My Last Words.”
Avenged Sevenfold
A7X also were on the bill at Hellfest where they fittingly dedicated their performance of “Hail To The King” to Vinnie Paul.
