Instead of dumping a bucket of ice water on your head, challengers are tasked with eating a hot pepper and then have to nominate other challengers.
Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith was challenged by former NFL safety Steve Gleason who was diagnosed with ALS in 2011. Smith accepted the challenge and popped what looks to be a habanero in his mouth in a grocery store.

Will Ferrell and Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready were called out by Smith in his video, so the clock is ticking on their response. Word of advice: DON’T DO THE ALS CHALLENGE IN THE PRODUCE SECTION!
