Details on New Dan Auerbach Label Sampler
Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach is thumping the drum for acts on his Easy Eye Sound label with a new sampler called Good Sound Comes Around Vol. 1.
The 7-inch release includes new songs by Auerbach — the unreleased “Cellophane Angel,” a collaboration with the Preservation Hall Band — Robert Finley (“Medicine Woman”) and Sonny Smith (“Pictures Of You).”
Auerbach is still promoting his latest solo album, Waiting On a Song, and will be playing a pair of shows with John Prine on November 10 in Washington, D.C. and the following night in Richmond, Va.
The Black Keys, meanwhile, remain on hiatus, and Auerbach tells us he and drummer Patrick Carney are in no hurry to return to action:
“No, we don’t have any plans at the moment, just enjoying a vacation…At the time we took a break we’d probably been touring for, we’d been on the road for almost four years straight…I’ve lived in Nashville almost eight years now, but this is really, this last year was the first time I felt like I’ve settled into my home because I was on the road so much.”
