Tom Morello is obviously very busy with Prophets of Rage at the moment, but it’s looking like we’re going to get some solo work from the guitarist in the near future.

Morello recently spoke with WRIF’s Meltdown, and the guitarist gave this forecast:

“I think the last Nightwatchman record came out in 2011-12, and I’ve been working on a solo record, kind of a big rock solo record, which we’ll hear music from probably early next year.”

The Nightwatchman is Morello’s solo folk alter-ego of sorts, and he’s released four studio albums under the name since 2007.   Since this new material will be rock, it’s unclear whether he’ll be releasing it as The Nightwatchman.

In the meantime, however, Prophets of Rage’s self-titled LP is due out September 15 and is currently available for pre-order at ProphetsOfRage.com where exclusive “Resistance Party Packs” are available.
