Top Home Sales In SWFL In 2022
We know there’s a lot of amazing homes in SWFL. It’s evident when driving on Sanibel, Captiva, down the beach on Estero Blvd or around Naples. For some of us, we dream about what it would be like to live in a multi-million dollar home with an unbeatable view, but for others it’s very much a reality.
Just a few weeks ago, the highest home in Sanibel history sold at a price of $11.7 million. Last year, Collier County saw its highest-ever home sale, a beachfront estate in Aqualane Shores, that sold for $62 million.
Most of the top home sales in both Lee and Collier counties took place before Hurricane Ian hit in September, but even with waterfront homes seeing damage from the storm, real estate prices are still incredibly high. One home on Barefoot Beach actually sold because of storm and the damage it caused. The owners decided they didn’t want to go through the hassle of doing the repairs. Even with damage, the home sold for $16.1 million, a new record on Barefoot Beach, proving that waterfront real estate is still in high demand and buyers will pay a premium for it.
Bonita Springs broker and Realtor Barry DeNicola told News Press that he expects to see more big waterfront home sales this year, with demand still exceeding supply, despite Ian, with prices for beachfront holding in 2023.
