If you haven’t been to a movie theater in a little while because you don’t want to pay the price for a ticket, this weekend might be the time for that to change as movie tickets in SWFL will be just $3 and here’s where you can find them.
The Cinema Foundation, a non-profit branch of the National Association of Theater Owners, announced that Saturday is “National Cinema Day”, a discount day nationwide in more than 3,000 theaters and on more than 30,000 screens at major chains like AMC and Regal Cinemas where movie tickets will be just $3. Every movie, every showtime, every format.
Why $3 tickets?
Labor Day weekend has historically been one of the slowest weekends in theaters, and Cineworld, who owns Regal Cinemas, just announced a few weeks ago a plan to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and cited the lack of major new releases. However, this summer has seen a record-breaking return to theaters with movies like Top Gun: Maverick, Minions: Rise of Gru and Jurassic World Dominion and the Cinema Foundation president Jackie Brenneman said this is a way to celebrate moviegoing.
What movies are in theaters right now?
Some of the big movies that are in theaters this weekend are Bullet Train, Super Pets and Top Gun: Maverick. Other offerings include Minions: The Rise Of Gru, Thor: Love and Thunder, Elvis, Gigi & Nate, Where the Crawdads Sing, Orphan: First Kill, Beast and The Invitation.
