Florida Woman Lindsey Bembli along with her friends Andrea Aehlert Spridik  and Liz Jones performed a daring rescue of a kitten stuck in a sewer in in Delray Beach, Florida. According to Liz’s facebook page, “wiggled my way through 230’ of stanky, wet, shoulder width sewer drain pipe” to rescue a 6 week old kitten that had been trapped for 6 days. They had previously tried to coax the cat with food, but it ran away when they tried to grab it. They even brought out the fire department who were also unable to coax the kitten out of the sewer drain. The Florida Woman knew what needed done.

On Friday, after nearly an entire week of trying, the trio decided to go in and get the kitten. If you like movie references: “That cat should be named Andy Dufresne – who crawled through a river of s**t and came out clean on the other side.” – That’s from Shawshank Redemption if you haven’t seen it. Tim Robbins was the main protagonist in the movie, but clearly it was Morgan Freeman that made it work. If you love the movie, you can actually take a tour at the Ohio prison where the movie was shot. Even see the tunnel. Let’s get back to our story:
