We know that people have been moving to the Sunshine State now more than ever and 3 Florida cities are among the top 10 in the U.S. to move to in 2022.

There’s plenty of reasons people want to move here. For me, it was because after growing up in the Midwest and seeing one too many winter’s, I never wanted to see snow and ice again. But then add in the fact that Florida has top-rated beaches, no state income tax, theme parks and year-round outdoor activities and it makes sense why people want to trade in the cold for an endless summer.

MoveBuddha put together a list based on real estate trends of the cities where the most people are moving and the three Florida cities that rank the highest are Ocala, Sarasota and Avon Park.

The report says of Ocala: “Close to Orlando, Gainesville, and “the Villages,” a fast-growing planned retirement city, Ocala’s near cultural and employment hubs without being in the heat of the action itself”. Ocala is seeing 524 inbound moves for every 100 outbound.

Avon Park is the most affordable in the top 10 however with a median home price of $200,573, compared to Sarasota’s $500,000.

Interesting to see 3 Florida cities on the list when the top 5 most popular states they’re seeing people move to so far in 2022 are Hawaii, Alaska, Montana, South Carolina and Maine with New Jersey, California and Illinois losing the most residents.
