We all know that Dave loves a gadget. And, while he dreams of one day when he can disconnect from technology, he's also very connected. He was having some issues with his refrigerator sending him alerts yesterday so he had to wonder if he's too connected.
We began the conversation talking about about delivery robots. People have mixed feelings about them taking over and there are many reasons why. Do you trust the robot? Do you feel bad that humans are losing their jobs, etc. Well, during this conversation, Chuck tell us that he wants a bot for everything. Purely because he's lazy and doesn't want to do anything.
Then, it was revealed that during the show yesterday, Dave was being bombarded by alerts from his refrigerator. The door was left open and his phone was sending him alerts for 10 minutes. Jason asked if he is connected to all of his appliances like this. And, yes, he's connected to most. His dryer, his garage door, he can even turn the lights on and off when he's not home.
It's something that is supposed to bring convenience to our lives but it seems in Dave's case that it's causing stress. Jason says he can't imagine getting alerts from his appliances all day long. They are just appliances, that are doing their jobs, or not, when in rest.
So, will Dave become more connected or less connected? Who knows. But, it's funny to think about all of his appliances driving him crazy with alerts.
