Dave Hugs Jason’s Wife?

There seems to never be a dull moment between Dave and Jason. And, contrary to popular belief, the members of the show don't hang out together outside of work. Dave has never even met Jason's wife before and when they randomly met at a store, Dave gave her a hug.

So, we were talking about a couple National days. One of them was National Hug a Vegetarian day. The only vegetarian the show knows of is Jason's wife. Well, she is no longer a vegetarian but she was back in the day. Chuck says that no one is going to hug her so they won't be able to participate in this day. Well, that's when Dave mentions that he's actually hugged Jason's wife.

It turns out, they ran into each other one time while Dave and his wife here out at a store. Jason's wife happened to be there too and they met for the first time. Dave is known for being awkward in these situations so they hugged. After all these years of working together, Dave had never met Jason's wife Jessi before, but he feels like he knows her. I mean, Jason and Dave have been working together since before Jason and his wife even started dating.

This leads to a conversation of awkward interactions between show members. Dave and Cort ran into each other at a grocery store. Chuck and Al ran into each other at a Halloween party. Jason recognized Lisa's dog Douglas hanging out of her car and sent her a text asking if he just saw her.

Although we do spend hours a week together, we don't get together out of work. So, if and when we do encounter each other in the wild, it feels strange.
