Man Awarded Compensation After Google Street View Camera Captures Him Naked

A man in Argentina was awarded compensation after a Google Street View camera captured him naked showing all the world his stuff. He's now $12,500 richer!

Google Street View can be an incredibly useful tool. It can help you navigate somewhere unfamiliar, show you areas as they look, and help you identify places and learn where certain stores or locations are in relation to other places. It's like you're actually there--from the comforts of your own home. However, there are also some drawbacks to Google Street View, especially if one of their cameras captures you naked. Yikes!

According to CBS News, the man was seeking payment from Google for harm to his dignity arguing that he was behind a tall wall when the camera captured him naked from behind leading to ridicule from co-workers and others. The image was shared widely online and didn't just go viral in his home country of Argentina but all over the world! Last year, a court dismissed his claims saying he had himself to blame for walking around his gaarden naked but now after an appeal he's been given roughly $12,500 for having his dignity violated, per CBS News.

According to CBS News, the judges said, "there is no doubt that in this case there was an arbitrary intrusion into another's life." They also said, "This invovles an image of a person that was not captured in a public space but within the confines of their home, behind a fence taller than the average-sized person. The invasion of privacy...is blatant."

You hear about people messing with the Google Street View car all the time and tryin to pose for the camera but you don't often hear about the camera accidentally snapping you naked.
