After putting $1 million into renovating an old TGI Fridays building, Franco Russo recently opened Fresh Catch Inland at 7991 Plaza del Lago Drive in Estero, Florida. This is his sixth restaurant venture.

Dinner entrees range from $30 to $40. The restaurant offers daily specials during happy hour from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., with lunch coming soon. The menu blends seafood with land options, including filet mignon and hearty beef bourguignon. Miso sea bass and day boat scallops are a couple of the signature dishes.

“I would say it's upscale casual,” Russo told Gulf Shore Business. “You can certainly come in for a date night and have a very nice meal. Or if you want to come in with a group of friends and sit at our bar and watch a sporting event on one of our TVs, you can do that, too.”

Russo also owns or co-owns Two Meatballs in The Kitchen and Stones Throw in Cape Coral. Fresh Catch comes 10 years after he bought his first restaurant, Two Meatballs in the Kitchen, in Fort Myers.

Inside, KDL Interior Design created spaces featuring Sanibel Island artist Lacy McClary's artwork, which diners can purchase.
