Did A Florida Man Steal A Car From A Dealership Because He Spent His Last Money Ubering There?
A Florida man was busted stealing a car from a dealership and he says he did it because they denied his car loan.
The man seems to believe that he had no other choice than to steal a car because he says he spent his last $50 on an Uber to get there. Seems like he believed stealing a car was his only option left. Maybe he should have considered trying calling a friend or family member? It could have saved him a lot of trouble (and embarrassment as well).
Florida Man Says He Stole Car Because He Ran Out Of Money
According to CBS 12, deputies say Jason Vincent Vargesko arrived at Route 60 Hyundai in Vero Beach, Florida in an Uber with a plan to finance a new vehicle. However, dealership employees reportedly declined to finance the 2024 Hyundai Tucscon he was interested in and that’s when it’s alleged that he became angry and left the lot but not before he found a Tuscon with keys in the ignition.
Thankfully, the car had a GPS locator so tracking him down wasn’t very difficult. They were able to track the GPS to his home, which was the same address listed on his finance application. It sounds like it wasn’t very hard for them to locate him. The vehicle was later found at an abandoned restaurant. He was later apprehended at his mother’s home where he resided. It’s believed that mental illness was likely a contributing factor. He has been charged on a felony count of vehicle theft. You can see his mugshot provided by the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office below.
