Florida Man Arrested For Pointing Flamethrower At Police

Was a Florida Man arrested for pointing a flamethrower at police? That's what it sounds like!

Flamethrower is a wild weapon of choice. I often forget they're a real thing and assume it's military only. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be that way! Can anyone get their hands on a flamethrower these days? Now, a man in Port St. Lucie is behind bars after allegedly pointing a flamethrower at police.

Pointing a flamethrower at police is not a smart decision. You're lucky to come out of that alive if you do it! You're putting their life in jeopardy and at risk of harm. They might just go into self-defense mode! Lucky for this guy, he came out of it alive, although arrested. However, it could have gone much much worse.

According to WPBF, 39-year-old Joseph Moreton was arrested and charged with 1 count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer and 1 count of resisting an officer without violence. It all started when the Port St. Lucie Police Department received a report of an explosion with smoke in the area of Southwest Kimball Circle on Monday night. When officers arrived, Moreton was allegedly yelling at officers from his backyard and was armed with a flamethrower, per WPBF. Eventually, he came to his front yard and into the roadway where officers were parked. He was ordered to drop the flamethrower but reportedly refused and continued approaching the officers and at one point he even pointed the flamethrower at police, per WPBF. After that, he reportedly retreated into his home and was surrounded by police. Later, he appeared at the front door and tried to blind an officer with a flashlight, per WPBF. That's when officers used their Tasers to bring him into custody without further incident. He was then taken to the St. Lucie County Jail where he's now being held on bond. What a strange decision! You can't do that! Thankfully, all the officers seem to have been unharmed during the incident and he was not harmed as well.

While committing crimes may seem black and white (you either broke the law or you didn't), there are certainly some crimes that are dumber than others. Sometimes it's the crime itself that's wild, other times, it's the people committing said crimes. These are 5 of the craziest, cringeworthy crimes ever committed.

Crimes can happen anywhere, anytime, to anyone. However, it takes a very unique individual, a case study if you will, to commit some of these outrageously dumb crimes. Years ago, these criminals would have been featured on Spike TV or one of those America's Dumbest Criminal shows. Today, I'm not sure if those shows are around...and I'm certain Spike TV isn't around anymore. That's a story for another time.

Crimes can happen for a number of reasons. They may happen out of necessity. They could also happen on accident. These crimes, however, do not fall into those categories. These crimes are different. None of these would accidentally happen. They also aren't a matter of life or death. There's no ethics quiz here, or any matters of 'would you steal bread to support your family?' These crimes, and criminals, aren't straight up cringeworthy.

While all of these crimes are crazy and certainly cringeworthy, they also make for excellent conversation pieces. That's why I've gone and found five examples of the wildest stories that Dave and Chuck the Freak have talked about and made a list highlighting the best of the best.
