Where Did An 8-Year-Old Girl In Ohio Decide To Drive Herself?
Where did an 8-year-old girl in Ohio drive herself to? Well, it’s a store that many of us would still drive ourselves to if we had the chance.
An 8-year-old getting behind the wheel can be incredibly dangerous. She still has double her lifetime until she will be able to legally drive on the roads alone. However, that didn’t stop her from driving herself to a popular store. At 8-years-old she already is starting.
8-Year-Old Girl In Ohio Drives Herself To Target
Who doesn’t love Target? I love Target, my girlfriend loves Target (admittedly more than I do), and, apparently, 8-year-old girls love it too! There’s something there for everyone, you just have to make sure you’re legally able to drive first.
According to FOX 8, Bedford police say they found an 8-year-old girl safe and shopping but discovered she took a car and drove on busy roads to get there! At only 8-years-old?! Sure, my friends and I took the car out a time or 2 before we were able to be on the roads legally, but we were, like, 15! I can’t imagine even thinking about doing that at 8, I would have been too busy with video games and Nintendo 64.
On Sunday morning, FOX 8 reports that police took a call for the missing child and then a separate call regarding a small child driving on Rockside Road. Soon, law enforcement found the car in the parking lot of a Target in Bainbridge and were able to locate the child inside the store. Doing the math, it looks like she drove roughly 10 miles from where she was reported missing! That’s not an easy drive! It sounds like it wasn’t all easy for her as she admitted to hitting a mailbox during the drive, per FOX 8.
Her relatives were called to the store and came to pick her up. Thankfully, nobody was injured during the incident and she’s too young to be charged criminally in the matter. I can’t even imagine what it would be like if I was driving down the road and saw an 8-year-old behind the wheel next to me. Certainly it would ring some alarms as 8 looks nothing like 16. I’m sure this will be a valuable life lesson moving forward. It sounds like she might need some extra eyes on her at all times. I can’t imagine being prepared to do that, and executing it, at only 8-years-old. That’s wild!
