Did A Doctor Perform Surgery While Watching YouTube Videos?
Did a doctor perform surgery while watching YouTube videos? That’s what he’s being accused of!
When you go in for surgery, you hope your doctor knows what they’re doing. The last thing you want is for them to be watching YouTube videos on what they’re supposed to be doing while they’re operating on you. Unfortunately, it sounds like that’s what happened in India.
Indian Doctor In Trouble For Watching YouTube Videos During Surgery
We’ve talked about many doctors who weren’t as professional as they should be on Dave & Chuck The Freak. There was the doctor who left to go home for a nap during a surgery, doctors who removed the wrong organ, and now we have one who was allegedly watching YouTube videos while performing surgery.
According to Oddity Central, a doctor is now being accused of causing the death of a 15-year-old boy after operating on him while watching YouTube videos on how to surgically remove gallbladder stones. Can you imagine having that happen to you? It’s like me when I have to fix a flat tire–when you have to YouTube how to do something it’s a clear sign that you have no idea what you’re doing. Fixing a tire is one thing, but if you’re operating on someone and their life is in your hands it’s a different story!
That doctor has been identified as Ajit Kumar Puri who works as the Ganpati Hospital in Saran, India. According to Oddity Central, the boy’s family claims that they brought him to the hospital after he had vomited several times. It sounds like Dr. Puri determined surgery was needed to remove a gallstone that was causing the vomiting and operated on him without the family’s consent. Oddity Central reports that it resulted in a sudden worsening of the boy’s condition and he was sent to a different hospital for treatment but died on the way. Oddity Central says the doctor left the boy’s dead body on the steps of Patna Hospital before going on the run!
It sounds like he might not have even been a real doctor! A complaint has been filed and authorities are waiting on autopsy results. Meanwhile, the alleged doctor has still not been located. It sounds like fake doctors are pretty common in India and it would be a nightmare to discover that you trusted your family member’s care and health with someone who isn’t a real doctor.
