Submarine Captain Fired For Making Sex Tape While In Charge Of Nuclear Missiles

A submarine captain has been fired after making a sex tape while in charge of nuclear missiles. Yeah, we're going to need him to pay attention!

If you're going to be in charge of the nuclear missiles, you should be solely focused on the nuclear missiles. Anything else just doesn't matter during that time. Yes, that does include making a sex tape. That can wait. Unfortunately, that's not how this situation played out.

Thankfully, he wasn't one of ours. He was a part of the United Kingdom's Royal Navy, notice the past-tense. I'm sure whoever is in charge of our nuclear missiles is focused on the job and not the least bit distracted. I certainly hope.

According to The Sun, the officer has been kicked out of the Royal Navy after higher-ups saw the X-rated footage. It sounds like the captain had an illicit physical relationship with a junior sailor who apparently was also starring in the sex tape. In addition to the video, The Sun reports that Navy chiefs accused the submarine captain of sharing X-rated selfies as well.

Now, life is looking much different for the former submarine captain. According to The Sun, he was immediately suspended for his actions and fired shortly afterwards under a zero tolerance policy for sexually unacceptable behavior. Now, these days, he's reportedly working a desk job. I imagine he can't be enjoying that. If you like life out at sea then being stuck at a desk all day can't be your preferred lifestyle. It's a major fall from glory as The Sun reports that the former submarine captain had met Princess Anne and was made an OBE for top-secret work. It seems like he'll no longer have those responsibilities.

Previously, the captain was in command of a Vanguard-class nuclear submarine armed with Trident Two doomsday weapons, per The Sun. That's some heavy responsibilities and you want to make sure you're giving it to an incredibly trustworthy and reliable person. Unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case with this decision.

The Royal Navy tells The Sun, "All forms of unacceptable behaviour are taken extremely seriously and anything which falls short of the highest standards will not be tolerated. Anyone who is found culpable will be held accountable for their actions, regardless of their rank or status."
