What Happened When A Man On A Safari Tried To Pet A Lion?

A man on a safari tried to pet a lion and it has started some serious outrage online. The video has since gone viral worldwide.

Thankfully, disaster was avoided in the incident. However, probably not by much! Seriously, what was he thinking?

Safaris can be one of the most beautiful and extraordinary experiences on earth. It's not every day that you can get up close to African wild life. Sure, you can see it at your local zoo, but out in the wild it's different. You never know what you might see. People are often treated to unexpected shows on safaris. However, it doesn't always go as planned. We've talked about several safaris that ended in disaster on Dave & Chuck The Freak. There was the elephant that killed a woman and a family was given a real scare when their toddler was picked up by a giraffe!

So, why you would choose to mess with the king of the jungle is beyond me. Lions are massive and ferocious! Surprising one is not recommended and can end up as horribly as you can imagine. Do not do it. Thankfully, this guy was unharmed after he tried to pet a lion. The animal was startled and surprised, but he was able to react and move his hand away fast enough to avoid having it ripped off (or worse).

Commenters were quick to point out the horrible idea and how it could have ended much differently saying, "It's so risky" and "Lions are dangerous creatures." What good can come out of it? You can now say you pet a lion? I don't think it's quite worth the risk.

Check out the viral video shared by @rohit_x_214 on Instagram below. It was a close call! It could have ended up going very badly not only for him but for everyone else in the car, too! It looks like the guy next to him wasn't very happy about his decision making in the video. I think that would likely be the last time I go anywhere with that guy. He's not invited on the next trip.
