Do you agree? What behaviors are considered socially acceptable can vary from person-to-person. However, I have never heard about not wearing sweatpants on a plane. Not wearing shorts? I could understand that. What do you think? Let's dive into the recent viral video.
Is Wearing Sweatpants On A Plane Socially Acceptable?
Do you think wearing sweatpants on a plane is socially acceptable? I have no problem with it. However, Family Guy writer Gary Janetti is going viral online for claiming it's not socially acceptable. Does he have a point or is he just being an observational comedian online?
I remember the episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm where Larry David criticizes the person sitting next to him for wearing shorts on the plane. The shorts are seen riding up the man's leg exposing a large amount of skin, which Larry notices and comments on. Personally, I get it. Showing too much skin on a flight probably isn't socially acceptable itself. The person next to you could touch or leg, or something! That's something neither of you want. However, what about sweatpants?
According to the We Are Experiencing A Slight Delay author, Janetti thinks people wearing sweatpants look like they have the flu. Here we go again with this. How many times on Seinfeld did George Costanza get accused of "giving up" or something like that because of his preference for sweatpants? The stereotype is played out! As Chuck The Freak would say, it's Soft Life! It's a great way to live.
According to People, when asked about wearing sweatpants on a flight, Janetti responded, "It looks like, at the airport, too many people are on day five of the flu. Like they've been in bed for a week. How comfortable do you have to be to get on a three-hour flight? I mean, I don't know." He goes on to argue that you can easily wear something with buttons and still be comfortable. Does he have a point? Sure. You want to always look your best and you rarely see that at airports. However, don't you have much more to worry about when you're at the airport? You have delays, crying children, and more--I can't blame anyone for at least being comfortable during all of that.

Are These The 5 Greatest Sitcoms Of All-Time?
What do you think are the greatest sitcoms of all-time? If you had to make a list of only 5, which shows would make the cut?
It would definitely be a difficult task! Some great shows would end up getting left off the list. However, I gave it a shot and named what I consider to be the 5 greatest sitcoms of all-time. Think about yours. Did any of yours make the list? Check it out below!
What Are The Greatest Sitcoms Of All-Time?
You've got decades of great sitcoms to consider but only 5 can end up making the list. That's a tough assignment! I feel like everyone has their own list of favorite sitcoms but when you start talking about the greatest sitcoms of all-time you have to think a little bit differently. Yes, there's a difference! You have to put your personal biases aside and think about what the best of the best truly are.
For example, South Park, Silicon Valley, and That 70s Show are some of my favorite sitcoms but I recognize that not everyone feels that way. So, while I'd put them on my list of favorite sitcoms I can't put them on what I imagine the greatest list to be. I have to remove my personal taste from the equation. However, I can still be wrong! So you'll have to let me know if one of the 5 should be replaced and what you'd replace it with.
To create this list of the 5 greatest sitcoms I considered popularity, cultural impact, longevity, and a few other pieces of criteria. Is it going to be perfect? No, it won't be. Is it going to end up being just a list of my favorite shows? Again, nope I'll be honest one of the shows on the list I've barely ever watched and another I'd love to replace with one of the shows above but feel like for the sake of the general population and majority, I kept it on the list.
Ready to see what made the final five? Check out the list below! Make sure to let us know what show we missed and what you'd replace it with on the list.
Seinfeld
I'd consider Seinfeld to be the best sitcom of all-time. I'm sure people will disagree, but it's really hard to deny. Even 30 years later we're still quoting it all the time. People still talk about "pulling a Costanza" in a situation and most of the people around will fully understand what they mean. It's a timeless classic that's still bringing the laughs today. It's number one in my book.
The Office
It's hard to name a sitcom within the last 20 years that has had the cultural impact that The Office has had. Everyone knows it and very few dislike it. Could the British version replace it on the list? Absolutely, but I don't think it ran for long enough to make the list. It's still definitely worth the watch, though! Michael Scott could be one of the greatest TV characters of all-time and the show changed a lot without him. However, those first 8 seasons are certainly strong enough to earn the show a spot in the top 5.
Friends
The Friends finale was more than just an episode, it was a cultural experience. People still remember where they were on that day. It's hard to see keys on the counter without thinking about that final scene. Friends was hilarious and dominate TV and pop culture. What other shows had a popular haircut named after a character that wasn't ironic? It might not be my favorite but it deserves a spot on the list. Or am I just showing my age?
Cheers
I told you earlier that one show was going to make the list that I don't really watch. Cheers is that show. I have never really watched it. Sure, I've seen episodes here and there. I know the basic plot. I know the theme song. I also know that it's one of the greatest sitcoms of all-time and had a lot of fans during its run on TV. It is one of the best examples of the "will they won't they?" that The Office helped make popular. Ted Danson has been in a lot of great TV shows, this is one of the best.
The Simpsons
When it comes to animated comedies, I'm a South Park guy. Honestly, I watch more South Park, Family Guy, and American Dad than I do The Simpsons. However, a show doesn't run as long as it has without being special and excellent. There's no denying that The Simpsons is great. I just have always preferred the other shows. It deserves a spot on the list. You can't talk TV comedies and not talk about The Simpsons.
