Burglars Dressed As Construction Workers Arrested In California

It's something straight out of Hollywood, and it's actually not far from where it happened! Burglars dressed as construction workers have been arrested in California!

It all happened across wealthy neighborhoods in Los Angeles, centering in North Hollywood. However, like many blockbuster movies the bad guys did not get away in the end. Learn more about what went down below!

They may have been caught, but it took a while! It seems like playing dress up might have worked, at least for a little while, for these clever burglars. Now, they're playing a different kind of dress up. This time, they've traded in their neon orange construction suits for orange jumpsuits.

According to NBC Los Angeles, the group dubbed the "Reflector Vest Crew" was arrested following a joint operation of North Hollywood Division detectives and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Together, the teams investigated a string of high-end residential burglaries in affluent Los Angeles neighborhoods including Studio City, West Los Angeles, and West Hollywood between March and June of this year.

The group would reportedly focus on luxury items like watches, jewelry, and designer purses. Eventually, they were caught in the act during a burglar in Studio City, per NBC Los Angeles. The primary suspects have been identified as Roderick Dennis, Michael Mitchell, and Munya Jones, per NBC Los Angeles.

It seems like they had a plan together that worked for them. According to NBC Los Angeles, they would send a member wearing a reflector vest dressed as a construction worker to knock on doors without raising suspicion. Basically, this was done to see if anyone was home. If nobody was there or if it appeared to be unoccupied, they'd proceed with the burglary.

The LAPD even says they used some sophisticated techniques to get away with the crimes and disguise themselves. So, it doesn't sound like these were just petty street criminals. These appear to be professionals.

While committing crimes may seem black and white (you either broke the law or you didn't), there are certainly some crimes that are dumber than others. Sometimes it's the crime itself that's wild, other times, it's the people committing said crimes. These are 5 of the craziest, cringeworthy crimes ever committed.

Crimes can happen anywhere, anytime, to anyone. However, it takes a very unique individual, a case study if you will, to commit some of these outrageously dumb crimes. Crimes can happen for a number of reasons. They may happen out of necessity. They could also happen on accident. These crimes, however, do not fall into those categories. These crimes are different. None of these would accidentally happen. They also aren't a matter of life or death. There's no ethics quiz here, or any matters of 'would you steal bread to support your family?' These crimes, and criminals, aren't straight up cringeworthy.

While all of these crimes are crazy and certainly cringeworthy, they also make for excellent conversation pieces.
