Florida Man Allegedly Tries To Withdraw 1 Cent From The Bank
FOX 35 Orlando reports that a Florida Man is facing a robbery charge after allegedly trying to withdraw 1 cent from the bank. The incident happened in Sumter County, Florida. It's far from your average Florida Man Story. I've never heard of anything like this happening!
According to FOX 35 Orlando, Michael Fleming, 41, has been identified as the man who walked into the bank, filled out a withdrawal slip for only 1 cent, and then handed it over to the bank teller. The teller then informed Fleming that he couldn't withdraw a penny. Then, FOX 35 Orlando reports Fleming told the banker, "So you want me to say the other word?" No other details about the conversation were made available to the public, but naturally the teller took that as a threat of potential violence. What else could he be hinting at other than a robbery, stick-up, or "gun?" I can't blame her for taking it that way.
Fleming was taken into custody shortly after while still in side the bank. After some investigating and talking to the suspect, law enforcement had probable cause to believe that Fleming did, indeed, violate robbery laws in the state of Florida, per FOX 35 Orlando.
Fleming was arrested and transported to the Sumter County Detention Center. So, there's the story. You can check out his mugshot below. He looks like a down-on-his-luck Martin Freeman.
