Alice Cooper has finally thrown his hat (and guillotine) into the 2024 presidential race.

The Godfather of Shock Rock launched his tongue-in-cheek "campaign" via social media with the 15-second clip below. He narrates the short video saying, "Well, I'm Alice Cooper, and I'm a troubled man for troubled times. I have absolutely no idea what to do, so I should fit right in."

The video instructs fans to go to AliceForPresident.com, who are greeted with a message to "Join The Campaign!" (aka: sign up for an email blast). The message also states, "Stay in the loop with our presidential campaign! Sign up now to receive updates on our campaign kick-off, ongoing virtual rallies, and Q&A sessions. Be the first to hear about our latest news and events. Stay Informed, Join the Conversation, Be Part of the Movement. Sign Up Now and be a part of our journey!"

No political campaign -- fictional or not -- is complete without some cool merch, and as expected, Cooper doesn't disappoint. Available are a selection of four campaign t-shirts, a bumper sticker, a campaign button, a guillotine pin, a commemorative coin and, of course, a campaign poster featuring the phrase "Make America Sick Again."

Alice's campaign website also features a "Campaign Trail" link, which takes fans to his page featuring all upcoming tour dates. Currently, Cooper is on tour in Europe, but he'll be returning to North America on July 30. His list of upcoming North American tour dates is below.

Alice Cooper, a five-piece hard rock band hailing from Detroit, Michigan, pioneered a brand of shocking theatrical rock that stabbed a stake through the heart of the 1960’s love generation. With the help of producer Bob Ezrin, the band released one iconic record after another in the early ‘70s, including Love It To Death (1971), Killer (1971), School’s Out (1972), and Billion Dollar Babies(1973). The Alice Cooper Band rose to the top of the glittery glam rock pile with their anthemic songs and elaborate stage show featuring guillotines, electric chairs, and boa constrictors among other frightening antics.

Vocalist Vincent Furnier legally changed his name to Alice Cooper and released the record that launched his solo career: 1975’s Welcome To My Nightmare. Since then, “The Coop,” as he’s fondly referred to, has released 21 studio albums (28 including his work with the Alice Cooper Group) and 11 live albums. Alice, who is celebrating his 74th birthday today (Feb. 4), still tours regularly; he averages around 200 shows a year. When he’s not on stage bringing gritty hard rock to the masses, he can be found living in Phoenix, Arizona pursuing a lower golf handicap.

To celebrate the Godfather of Shock Rock’s birthday, we’ve ranked 25 of Alice Cooper’s greatest songs.
