Well, this is just a risk that comes with the job. A crocodile handler nearly lost his genitals after being bit by the dangerous reptile he was handling. To make things worse? It happened in front of park visitors!
The incident happened at the Crocodile Creek theme park just north of Durban in South Africa. It was an insanely close call.
Crocodile Handler Nearly Loses His Genitals After Being Bit
According to Daily Mail, the experienced expert was presenting to dozens of visitors when he was viciously attacked. He was bitten by a Nile Crocodile, which is the largest living reptile in the world. Additionally, it has the most powerful bite force in the world. That is definitely not what you want latching onto your junk. Oh no.
Naturally, the man screamed in terror as the predator latched onto him just below his waist. It pulled him down to the ground as another crocodile came to join the attack. Thankfully, he was able to get up and get the croc off of him and was able to run for safety.
According to Daily Mail, another crocodile expert said, “The croc was just giving him a warning. If he had wanted to kill him then trust me it could easily have.” A warning? That’s a pretty intense warning.
It was scary, but it could have been much much worse. Per Daily Mail, a member of the Reaction Unit South Africa said, “He had a serious injury to his right leg right by his genitals. If it was another inch over his future demonstrations may have been a little high pitched!”
This isn’t the first crocodile attack at Crocodile Creek. In 2022, another handler, Sean Le Clus, was attacked. He suffered an injured leg in that attack.
