Man ‘High On Mushrooms’ Arrested With Parrot On Shoulder
Not every ridiculous story is about a Florida Man. Sometimes, the story is about an Alabama Man in Florida. This Alabama Man was arrested with a parrot on his shoulder while allegedly high on mushrooms.
That’s not the full story! He was arrested after reportedly fighting with Florida deputies.
Man Arrested With Parrot On Shoulder
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were alerted to a man who was pounding the front door of a local home in addition to a nearby vehicle, according to Fox 13 News.
The deputies say the owner of the home asked the man in question to leave, but he did not cooperate. Fox 13 News reports that as deputies were on their way to the scene, they spotted a car that matched the description of one seen in the area.
The driver was later identified as Timothy Brandon Bowers. Bowers was found sitting in the vehicle with “a blank look on his face and a parrot on his shoulder,” according to Fox 13 News.
When deputies approached the vehicle, they noticed several weapons near Bowers and asked him to exit, per Fox 13 News.
That’s when police say he became combative and non-compliant. Fox 13 News says he was tased and detained a short while after. Police say Bowers told them there was nothing wrong with him, “he was just high on mushrooms,” per Fox 13 News.
Fox 13 News reports that police found several illegal items while searching his vehicle. The parrot was secured in a pet carrier and taken by Washington County Animal Control. The parrot did not appear to be injured, according to Fox 13 News.
According to Fox 13 News, Bower was charged with “two counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence, possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing.

While committing crimes may seem black and white (you either broke the law or you didn’t), there are certainly some crimes that are dumber than others. Crimes can happen anywhere, anytime, to anyone. However, it takes a very unique individual, a case study if you will, to commit some of these outrageously dumb crimes. Years ago, these criminals would have been featured on Spike TV or one of those America’s Dumbest Criminal shows. Today, I’m not sure if those shows are around…and I’m certain Spike TV isn’t around anymore. That’s a story for another time.

Craziest Crimes
Crimes can happen for a number of reasons. They may happen out of necessity. They could also happen on accident. These crimes, however, do not fall into those categories. These crimes are different. None of these would accidentally happen. They also aren’t a matter of life or death. There’s no ethics quiz here, or any matters of ‘would you steal bread to support your family?’ These crimes, and criminals, aren’t straight up cringeworthy.
