Queen Is The Favorite Classic Rock Band of Florida

Google Trends is such an amazing way to learn what people are most interested in. Sell Easy analyzed Google Trends search data of 70 iconic rock bands that were at their peak pre-1990 to determine the most popular classic rock band in every state. Queen is the favorite here in Florida. Here's the overall findings.
Overall Most Searched Classic Rock Bands
#1 Van Halen and Guns 'N Roses (5 states each)
#2 ZZ Top and Queen (4 states each)
#3 The Doobie Brothers (3 states)
#4 Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kiss, Judas Priest, Eagles, and Creedence Clearwater Revival (2 states each)
And although Lynyrd Skynrd has a local connection here in Southwest Florida, they were not the number one choice here in the Sunshine State. Alabama and Mississippi called Skynyrd their favorite. No real surprise there. But those in Florida, Idaho, Maine, and Maryland still can’t get enough Queen.
But why is Queen so big in Florida?
Well, despite the songs being over 40 years old, you'll find that most people know at least some of the lyrics to a Queen song. I can rattle off the sheer amount of hits they had and fill this whole blog. But why people in Florida search for Queen more than say, Van Halen or Guns 'N Roses, I really can't say. Queen was just an amazing band.

Freddie Mercury would've turned 76 today (September 5), and it goes without saying that his presence is certainly missed in the rock and roll landscape.
There was no one quite like Freddie when Queen arrived in the 1970s, and there really hasn't been anyone quite like him since. There have definitely been imitators, but there truly is only one Freddie Mercury.
