Plenty of people have been using AI to create some interesting pieces of music. This latest AI music creation is certainly interesting, and frankly, it was bound to happen sooner or later.
A YouTube channel called AI Playgrounds recently shared a rendition of Metallica's "Master of Puppets" sung by Dave Mustaine. On YouTube, the clip is simply captioned, "In some parallel universe, this happened."
On top of that, AI Playgrounds also had Mustaine "sing" another Metallica classic: "Seek And Destroy." Doubling down on their previous caption, AI Playgrounds wrote of this rendition, "In some parallel universe, this also happened."
Mustaine and Metallica seem to have moved past their bad blood. However, the Megadeth frontman still is interested in being involved with his "Big 4" peers. In February, Mustaine shared his desire for Megadeth and Metallica to tour together. He said, in part, "The fact is simple: the world wants to see Megadeth and Metallica play together. And in case anyone is wondering: there's f-cking money in that."
Additionally, Mustaine shared in September 2022 that he like to write music with James Hetfield again. He said, "I think the world really does want us to do that, and I think there is a pretty good possibility of it happening down the line. I do think that it’s possible that one day James is going to come around and that he and I are going to be able to do something together again."

Metallica is one of the most revered bands of all time with a catalog any up-and-coming band could only dream of having. It's impossible imagining the rock/metal landscape without them.
With this in mind, we did a deep dive on the mighty Metallica catalog focusing only on albums/EPs with new material (sorry, Garage Inc.) but excluding Lulu, their infamous 2011 collaboration with Lou Reed for obvious reasons (not sorry about that.)
