What did Bonnie Raitt do

Well she won. She won big. Raitt won song of the year for "Just Like That." She was clearly shocked. So was everyone else when you consider who she beat. Other artists and songs nominated include the Queen B, Beyonce and "Break My Soul," along with Harry Styles' "As It Was," and Taylor Swift's "All Too Well." Those are some heavy hitters.

The song she wrote was inspired by the story of an organ donation. She heard a news story about a woman who donated her dying son's heart to another child for a life saving organ transplant operation. It moved her so much that she vowed to write a song about it. The song apparently has resonated with millions of music lovers.

Raitt did not just accept a Grammy, she participated in a moving tribute to Christine McVie. Cheryl Crow and Mick Fleetwood were also on stage for the performance.

Other surprises of the night included JAY-Z leaving with no statues despite being nominated for six. On the other, his wife Beyonce made award show history. She broke the all time number of Grammy's won by an artist or music maker. The so-called Queen B now has at 32 awards. You'll never guess who held the previous record at 31. It was Georg Solti, a Hungarian-born classical conductor.
