Wind Chills In The Teens This Weekend
I love watching the gently falling snow as it blankets the countryside…on TV…as I sip on a maragarita…while relaxing on my lanai. I spent many years up north, scraping windshields and falling on ice. I’m over it. If we’re friends, you know that I will not even think about heading north between September and April.
I didn’t sign on for this crazy weather and I’m not happy about it, either. It all starts tomorrow night, when the temperature is gonna drop like it saw a state trooper on the Courtney Campbell. A very rare freeze watch has been issued for most of us this weekend, with the lowest temperatures being inland. Sea breezes will help keep forecasted temps in the low 30s by the Bay, while inland counties will see lows in the mid 20s. Those temperatures mean you’ll have to protect your animals and plants that are vulnerable to cold weather.
The last time it got this cold on Christmas was back in 1989, when the Berlin Wall came down, Madonna released her ‘Like A Prayer’ album and the World Wide Web was INVENTED by Al Gore! Yup, it’s been a minute. Another aspect of the cold you may not have considered is delays or cancellations of travel plans. You sure as hell don’t wanna get stranded in Poughkeepsie indefinitely. To add to the suckitude, fierce winds will be whipping around all weekend, making it feel even colder. While Florida will be spared the worst of it, this storm has dropped temperatures across the U.S. to as low as -42 degrees in Casper, Wyoming this morning. In the meantime, we can expect a light shower or two this afternoon as we sit back and wait for the inevitable big chill.
I’ll say it again! It’s gonna be cold out there, so please bring your animals indoors and protect them from the forecasted wind chills that will dip into the teens. Maybe I should fly to Belize for the weekend… Source: Fox13News.com
