Man Stuck Two Days, Travels 200 Miles When Balloon Comes Untethered
A Chinese man went on a hell of a ride earlier this week while picking pine nuts.
The man was using a hydrogen balloon to pick pine nuts from a tree when the balloon became untethered. The man and a partner (who had jumped out) were picking pine nuts when they lost control of the balloon sending the man on a two day, 200 mile journey.
Rescuers were finally able to make contact with the man through cell phone service and gave him instructions on how to release some of the gas in the balloon and slowly deflate it and land safely. The man traveled over 200 miles and landed near the China/Russia border.
He was fine except for some back pain, which they attribute to him having to stand for two days while afloat.
