Mitch Albom was already a popular sportswriter and broadcaster by the time Stan and Haney interviewed him in March of 1999. But his career had just skyrocketed with the release that year of his bestselling book Tuesdays with Morrie. Seeing that an old teacher of his was dying of ALS Mitch reconnected with him and documented his time with the older man every Tuesday right up until the time of his death. It changed Mitch’s life and the book changed the lives of many who read it. Since that time Mitch has released nine more books and has sold over 40 million copies.
