Stan and Haney Bio
Each began their broadcasting careers in 1982. (40 years ago)
The pair first worked together on the air in 1987.
Stan’s first broadcast in Southwest Florida was in 1990 (32 years ago.) He then joined WRXK in 1991 (31 years ago.)
Haney returned to work with Stan in 1993. Together they have broadcast more than 6500 Shows together on WRXK.
The Stan and Haney TV Show aired in Southwest Florida from 1999-2000 on WEVU-TV.
Stan and Haney were on the air during numerous Southwest Florida Hurricanes and Floods. They informed Southwest Florida listeners on the day of September 11, 2001.
In 2003 at the start of the Gulf War they formed the Stan and Haney DRAFT Fund (Direct Relief and Assistance for Florida Troops). A non-profit charity for Southwest Florida’s currently serving military and their families. The charity continues and has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations with 100% of the funds going directly to local recipients.
Stan and Haney have been recognized by several branches of the military for their charitable work and contributions.
In 2004 Stan and Haney were selected as one of the Best Things about living in Southwest Florida from Gulf Shore Life Magazine.
Stan and Haney have supported many of the local sports teams in Southwest Florida. In 1991 Stan was an honorary member and First Base Coach for the Fort Myers Miracle Baseball Team and at the age of 50 played on Special Teams in a game for the Florida Tarpons Arena Football Team. Haney was the Public Address Announcer for the Florida Everblades professional Ice Hockey Team from 1998-2008
In 2013 Stan and Haney were officially recognized by the Beasley Media Group for their 5000th Show at WRXK
In 2014 Stan and Haney were officially nominated for an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Florida Gulf Coast University.
