Florida Ranks #2 For Most UFO Sightings In The US
Maybe you’ve seen a UFO yourself or maybe you think the whole thing is a bunch of malarkey, but Florida ranks #2 for the most UFO sightings in the US….

A 3/5 scale model of a proposed VTOL ‘flying saucer’ aircraft, the Couzinet Aerodyne RC-360, on display at a workshop on the Ile de la Jatte in Levallois-Perret, Paris, 1955. Designed by French aeronautical engineer Rene Couzinet (1904 – 1956), the Aerodyne was to feature two contra-rotating crowns of 96 small wings rotating around a motionless cockpit. These were to be powered by six 180 HP Lycoming engines in three pairs. Horizontal propulsion was to be provided by the jet engine, which can be seen mounted under the cockpit. The aircraft was refused government backing, however, and never reached the prototype stage. (Photo by Keystone/Hulton Archive/Getty Images)
Maybe you've seen a UFO yourself or maybe you think the whole thing is a bunch of malarkey, but Florida ranks #2 for the most UFO sightings in the US.
The National UFO Reporting Center started keeping track in 1974, and since then there have been 7,516 reported sightings in Florida. In 2021, there were 190 reported, and 22 of them happened right here in SWFL.
Maybe you remember Cape Coral man Jose Carrodegua who spotted two UFO's on his way home from work, or the guy who saw something by the beach in Naples. MUFON, which is the Mutual UFO Network, say they get 30-40 reports each month in Florida.
Aviation expert Peter Trabucco said it's possible that we see more here than almost anywhere else based on where we are on the planet saying, "It seems like a lot of the sightings do occur on the sunbelt, or in Florida, Texas, Arizona, Nevada."
