A construction worker was rescued after getting trapped in a 10-foot deep hole.

The work was being done in Royal Palm Golf Estates at Eagle Lakes Golf Club in Collier County.

According to Greater Naples Fire District, the worker fell into a hole that was dug while crews worked on a sewer line, and when the sides collapsed and a water line broke, the man was stuck as it caved in and started filling with water.

WINK News reports the urban search and rescue team arrived and had to suck out water, that was already up to his shoulders, to help get him out. Collier Public Utilities assisted in the effort as well, using a vacuum truck to speed up the process.

Power was turned off in the neighborhood for a few hours, but has since been restored.

The man was taken to the hospital for a check-up, but there’s no word on his condition.
