A Florida man is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to a murder-for-hire plot and trying to frame the Black Lives Matter movement for the crime.

Daniel Slater confessed that he was orchestrating a plan to have his ex-girlfriend and her husband killed.

He also planned to have “Black Lives Matter” spray-painted on the victims’ home to make investigators believe that the group was behind their death.

Slater allegedly promised to pay for the crime with drugs and money, but was working on the plot with an undercover FBI agent.

This wasn’t the first time Slater was involved with the FBI. He was investigated in February 2020 after a woman who he hired to spy on his ex-girlfriend as well as “kidnap and kill multiple individuals associated with her” dead in Everglades National Park.

The Hill reports that woman’s death was ruled an accidental overdose, however the investigation led police to one of Slater’s associates who became an FBI informant, and was the man he revealed his BLM plot to.
