The Everblades are ready to hit the ice again, but the 2020-21 season is going to be a little different due to Covid-19.

The team has to socially distance at all meetings and take multiple Covid tests.

Coach Brad Ralph says, “There’s a price to pay to play the game we love, and we’re getting paid so we can pay bills.”

Unfortunately, there are eight teams that have opted out for this season. The six teams in the northern division, the Worcester Railers, Maine Mariners, Reading Royals, Newfoundland Growlers, Adirondack Thunder, the Brampton Beast, and in addition, the Norfolk Admirals and the Atlanta Gladiators.

The Blades are trying to create a sort of bubble similar to the NBA. The players are restricted from going to bars and restaurants.

With the possibility of players still contracting Covid, many players are going to have to be flexible and be prepared to play any position.

The Everblades are excited and looking forward to this season and only 40 out of the 2,500 season ticket holders have opted out of this season. All fans are going to be required to wear masks and some sections of the arena are going to be unavailable to fans.

But some bad news… no Teddy Bear Toss.
