Pablo Arbella Martinez, 26, was arrested after a head-on crash on the Sanibel Causeway.

The incident happened on Monday just after 8:30 PM. Dispatchers were notified that a black 2007 BMW was driving south in the northbound lane and hit a white 2017 Toyota Rav4.

Two people sustained serious injuries and were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.

Reportedly, Martinez was seen running from the crash to a wooded area next to the Sanibel boat ramp.

K-9 units were dispatched to help locate Martinez.

Martinez then approached a home around 9:25 PM and asked to use the resident’s phone. He was later found running down Periwinkle way wearing only blue boxers.

Martinez was arrested for hit-and-run, driving on a suspended license, and reckless driving.
