BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND - MARCH 16: Nurses in the accident and emergency dept of Selly Oak Hospital work during a busy shift on March 16, 2010 in Birmingham, England. As the UK gears up for one of the most hotly contested general elections in recent history it is expected that that the economy, immigration, industry, the NHS and education are likely to form the basis of many of the debates. A student at Lexington Middle School was told that she had to quarantine for 10 days because she exhibited symptoms of Covid-19. But according to her mother…  it’s just “that time of the month.”

So what were her symptoms? Fatigue.

The mother told the school nurse that she was just starting her menstrual cycle, but the student was instead given forms related to Covid-19.

So there are now two options for the mother. Either the student quarantines for 10 days, or she provides proof that she does not have Covid-19.

The mother said, “I just feel like this whole system needs to be re-evaluated.”
