Matthew James McNickles, 48, was arrested Monday morning after stealing beef jerky from a convenience store on Immokalee Road in Golden Gate.
He entered the store around 4 AM with a woman where they stole beef jerky and a case of water. Later that morning they went back to the same convenience store.
Police saw a vehicle that matched the suspect's description leaving the store parking lot. They conducted a traffic stop after they rolled through a stop sign.
Police found several unopened packages of beef jerky in the car and an aluminum foil pipe between his legs that he used to smoke heroin out of.
McNickles was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
