Woman and Car Get Sucked into Drain, Shot Out into River
A Door Dash driver in New Jersey realized the power of mother nature first hand Monday when she and her car were pulled under city streets and through a drainage tunnel as storms hit the area.
USA Today reports it happened Monday in Passaic. 24-year-old Nathalia Bruno tried to drive through flood waters. Her car started filling up and began to float.
She was able to get out of the vehicle, but not before she and it were pulled through the tunnel and “shot out” a mile away into the the Passaic River. Rescue personnel say she was able to swim across the river to a back yard. She appeared uninjured, but was taken to a hospital to be checked out. Here car had yet to be recovered as of Tuesday.
Door Dash says it will offer occupational insurance and financial assistance to help Bruno with medial bills.
