Woman Accused of Using Coronavirus Crisis to Move 100 Pounds of Pot
A 24-year-old woman in Maryland tried to move 100 pounds of pot during the coronavirus crisis assuming that police officers had taken their focus off drug trafficking.
Investigators received a tip from a confidential informant and learned the woman was going to use the COVID-19 emergency as an opportunity to move large amounts of marijuana, traveling several hours to make the transaction. Officers found the woman in possession of 100 pounds of pot with a street value of $200,000. The weed had been vacuumed sealed bags inside three large duffel bags.
