Collier County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 34-year-old Carlos Renan Bonilla-Escobar after he cracked open a cold one in front of deputies!
The Collier County Sheriffs Office were dispatched to a report of a man drinking a Corona while driving.
When deputies located Carlos, he was on the side of the road, trying to get his Astro van started, but the engine wouldn’t turn over.
According to NBC 2 News, “the cops asked Carlos what he was doing, he looked at them in a drunken trance, grabbed a bottle of Corona, put the bottleneck in his mouth, removed the cap with his teeth, and started drinking.
Bonilla-Escobar refused to cooperate with Deputies who were asking for his drivers license.
‘I don’t have one, you think you’re taking me to jail?’ Bonilla-Escobar threatened. ‘You are not taking me to jail.'”
That’s when things took a turn.
Carlos tried to pick up a claw hammer from the passenger seat. Still refusing to cooperate, he then proceeded to pickup up a serrated knife.
After drawing their weapons, the Collier County Deputies managed to get Carlos to drop the knife.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Deputies then tased the driver and arrested him, taking him to the Naples Jail Center for booking and processing.
