Earlier this year, rumors were swirling about a potential major tour from Van Halen, but nothing ever really came of it, and there was seemingly no reason why. Now, David Lee Roth may have offered a major hint.

In an interview with KSLX, Roth was asked about his upcoming Las Vegas residency show and if the setlist will be made up of predominantly Van Halen and solo songs. He responded, "Oh, you bet it is, and I take it very seriously. I’m the face of Van Halen from this point on, most likely. I’m not sure what’s happening with Ed, but [he’s] probably not gonna answer the bell this time. It’s not my place to guess...I’ve got some 25-year-olds [for my backing band.] We carry the torch here."

Roth was then asked whether Eddie Van Halen was dealing with any health issues, but Roth responded, "I hear all the same rumors that you do. It's not my place to guess."

Of course, Van Halen was diagnosed with tongue cancer in 2000, and the cancer was in remission as of 2002, and there hasn't been any other cancer-related news to surface since. No one from Van Halen's camp has commented or issued a statement regarding Roth's recent interview.
