Brian told cops someone broke into his home and assaulted him. Officers found the home had been ransacked and saw blood “strewn about.”
But according to Deputy District Attorney Thomas Belesiu, Brian injured himself, and the blood was “almost certainly” his.
Brian's work laptop was also damages and $700 was missing from a jar holding his daughter’s cookie earnings.
Investigators found inconsistencies in his story. Brian eventually told police he stole the money to pay for the erotic massage and then “faked the robbery when he realized he couldn’t explain the missing funds."
Brian was sentenced to 18 months of probation, 80 hours of community service and restitution as part of a plea deal. He was also hit with a $100 fine.
